TRACK & TOPIC DESCRIPTIONS
The Audio track for the Austin GDC is designed to elevate game audio development education, strengthen the community, and foster professional growth of the individual. By providing advanced game audio sessions within a social environment, this track strives to push the boundaries of game audio development. This is an intermediate/advanced level track; beginner-level submissions will not be considered.
This track identifies and celebrates the profession of writing as it applies to games. We hear from professionals in related disciplines as well as the best practitioners of the craft in the game industry.
Online Games - Business and Management
The world market for online gaming continues to explode, but can look chaotic from the outside. This track explores where the opportunities are and the risks and best practices for approaching them.
Online Games - Community and Marketing
Building a coherent community of players is often critical to the success of a game that seeks audiences online. This track investigates how communities function, and how they interplay with broad marketing strategies.
Culture, play habits and available time affect success of a game differently in every region of the globe. The Design track looks at how to design with a world mindset.
Online Games - Technology and Services
The latest software technologies, network operations and customer service come together in this track that covers the best practices within MMO infrastructure and services.
